Bocce (or Boccia) An Italian boules sport played on a flat, rectangular court. Players roll larger balls toward a smaller target ball (pallino). Bocce is popular in Europe, North America, and Australia. Raffa A variant of boules popular in Italy, played on a smooth surface. Players aim to throw boules close to the pallino or knock opponents’ boules away. Lyonnaise (Sport Boules) A fast-paced French boules sport played on a long, narrow court. Players run and throw boules toward the target ball. Adaptive Boccia A Paralympic version of bocce designed for athletes with severe physical disabilities. It emphasizes precision and strategy. Bowl Volo A traditional Italian boules sport where players throw boules to land as close as possible to the pallino or hit opponents’ boules. Bowls (Lawn Bowling) A precision sport played on grass or artificial surfaces. Players roll biased balls (called bowls) toward a target ball (the jack). Popular in the UK, Australia, and Commonwealth countries.
